Cathedral Valley, Capitol Reef National Park, Utah (Infrared)
The northern part of this park is seldom seen by most visitors because one must drive through the shallow Fremont River to access its main features. And then there are no overnight accommodations, no other facilities, and just six primitive campsites. But the incredible beauty and wildness of the terrain makes minor deprivations seem trivial! The Henry Mountains in this sunset scene were 80 miles distant.
