Black and White photography has long be thought to be the essence of fine art. But I believe that concept is of lesser importance than seeing what remains when color is subtracted from an image. Sometimes the bare bones of an hidden idea is left for the viewer to see undistracted by color. What do you see in absence of color? How do you respond to the vagaries of light and dark and of shodows across a surface.
