Death Valley National Park, California (Infrared)
When I look at the big views of Death Valley, I am sensitive to the immensity of Earth’s power. The valley falls between two mountain ranges—one on the east and one on the west, whose sides have been eroding for millions of years, resulting in impressive, colossal alluvial fans. The geology is an ongoing dynamic process because wind, water and plate tectonics are still hard at work shaping the area on a day-to-day basis.
