Death Valley National Park, California 

This is another place that appears to hark back to our primordial past. I think the beauty in Death Valley comes from the earth’s essence being exposed to human view. Many of the hills are bare of vegetation, except in wet years when the seeds that have lain dormant get the moisture they need to grow, bloom and send out seeds that start the cycle all over again.
