Smoketree, Palm Desert, CA 

When I came upon this tree during a hike, I was greatly impressed with its filmy foliage. But when I looked at image I had taken, I realized that it lacked something. The foliage simply didn’t stand out like it did when I was standing there. After experimenting with numerous ways to process the file I found using “color negative” in Photoshop gave me what I wanted. Now I could really see the smoke!
